His work ranges from research to commercial across a range of industries from energy, biomedical, and defense to smart cities, agtech, telco, logistics and space. A few notable stints include CSIRO, Cochlear, Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, BAE Systems, and working in startups across SV such as Sensity Systems (acq. by Verizon) and Skylo Technologies (SoftBank led). Barry's core expertise covers engineering, product, operations and strategy. He is also an Angel Investor on the side and has investments across Australia, Europe, and the US.
