Abena oversees social impact initiatives across the organisation. She engages leaders in the impact ecosystem to support the growth and development of startups solving intractable social and environmental issues through business. Exploring the importance diversity, inclusion and collaboration initiatives play in entrepreneurship, Abena also oversees the Female Founder and Alumni Programs at MAP.
Abena draws on best practice to design challenging programs for our founders who leave with the tools and network to unlock positive social impact in their startups. She has worked with hundreds of startups on their business and impact strategy and involved them in our programs’ continued evaluation and improvement.
With deep international experience in social enterprises and not-for-profits, Abena developed operational and program design expertise to bring about social change after working with organisations like aidha, Earth Hour and YGAP
Abena has a Bachelor of Arts - Major Geography & Minor Economics, and a Post-Graduate Certificate - International Development from the University of British Columbia, and an Executive Master of Arts from The University of Melbourne.
